For the first time since its establishment, TodayArt Museum is presenting a large-scale exhibition under the “Independent Curator System,” making full use of both its indoor and outdoor spaces. Bringing together more than fifty artists, the exhibition encompasses painting, sculpture, installation, video, and other media. Through diverse perspectives and approaches, the artists explore and interpret the notion of “energy” in contemporary society, enabling audiences to experience the dynamic release of artistic vitality within contemporary Chinese art.

As a major exhibition of both academic significance and cultural strategy, this initiative is designed to establish a lasting international platform for artistic exchange. Evolving into a biennial with both national and global relevance, it aims to foster dialogue, experimentation, and innovation within the field of contemporary art.

TodayArt Museum has invited independent curator Huang Du to serve as the inaugural chief curator. Under the theme of “Energy,” the exhibition highlights the creativity and imagination of more than fifty artists from across China, presenting works that embody the richness, diversity, and innovative spirit of Chinese contemporary art. Energy in Contemporary Chinese Art reflects the vitality of the present moment and points toward the future trajectory of artistic development.
